Agency
Owner Greg Hatcher started The Hatcher Agency from scratch in September of 1990 with a loan from the bank, an assistant, and 500 square feet of office space. He signed a 3 year lease on that 500 square feet of office space thinking that would be all he would ever need. At the end of the first year he had outgrown his office space had grown to 7 employees and produced more insurance in his first year of business than any agent in the state of Arkansas. Three years later in 1993 The Hatcher Agency was named Arkansas' Small Business of the Year by Arkansas Business and The Hatcher Agency was the largest health insurance agency in the state of Arkansas. Greg and The Hatcher Agency have been the number one producer since leading the state of Arkansas in health insurance sales every year since they started business in 1990. Greg graduated
in 1983 from Alma College with a degree in Public Relations. While at
Alma he was President of the Student Body, lettered in soccer, wrestling
and baseball, and was named the schools Outstanding Graduate and the TKE
Fraternity's Top Fraternity Man for his local Chapter and Nationwide.
Following graduation he coached baseball at Notre Dame University for
1 year before going to work for Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield. In Greg's
7 years at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield he was named the Account Executive
of the Year a record six consecutive times before leaving to start his
own agency in 1990. In 1999, Greg wrote the book 55 Steps to Outrageous
Service, which is a book outlining the service that The Hatcher Agency
delivers everyday to their clients. This book has sold over 15,000 copies
to date and The Hatcher Agency has grown to a business with 30 employees,
over 500 group clients, and over 50,000 insured's. Because of his Outrageous
Service philosophy Greg and The Hatcher Agency have earned numerous awards
and recognitions including lifetime status in the Million Dollar Roundtable
recognizing the top 3 % of life insurance producers in the country and
a lifetime Golden Eagle Award winner by the National Association of Health
Underwriters recognizing the top 1% of health insurance producers nationwide.
Greg Hatcher
is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Health Consultant (CHC),
Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU),
and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC). These designations
account for over 50 different insurance exams and over 2,000 hours of
additional study. Hatcher is the only agent in the state of Arkansas and
possibly the nation to earn all five insurance designations.
Dottie attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs and later finished her degree of economics at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. Dottie began working at The Hatcher Agency in 1997 as one of our large group account executives. After having three children, Dottie has returned in a new role as Vice President. She manages and helps the sales and service staff with their proposals and presentations, assists with training, and does special projects in the Agency. In addition
to staying busy with her family, Dottie's other activities include tennis,
and she has played in several state tennis tournaments.
Robert attended the University of Arkansas Little Rock and studied liberal arts. He has been with The Hatcher Agency since 1998, fresh out of high school. Over the years, he has helped out with several different areas within the agency, gaining valuable experience. As an account executive he now handles the sales and service issues for the small group area at The Hatcher Agency. Robert met Greg when he played basketball for him in Junior High at The Anthony School. Robert's other activities include competitive golf, darts, and pool.
Sarah graduated from Henderson State University in 2002, and has worked with The Hatcher Agency since that time. She works with Robert Ellis in our Small Group area. She helps with Customer Service and Plan Administration, while Robert assists with plan design and setup. Although clients can always call the insurance company for basic questions, Sarah is available when they have trouble reaching customer service or if they have a serious problem.
Wendy is a 1995 graduate of the University of Central Arkansas with degrees in Geography and Biology. Wendy came to The Hatcher Agency from Alltel, where she helped companies program and install new phone systems. She began her insurance career at The Hatcher Agency in 1999 heading up our Individual Product Division and moved into the group area about a year later. She heads one of our Large Group Areas and works with Karen. As an Account Executive, Wendy handles plan design and setup. She presents the renewals to her existing clients and delivers proposals to prospective clients.
Kimberly's previous work experience includes investments and group insurance. She was the Wealth Management Marketing Officer with Pulaski Trust & Investor Services for 5 years. She graduated in 2000 from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with a B.A. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. In 2004, Kimberly completed the Arkansas Bankers Association Trust School, and in 2007 she completed the Investment Management and Personal Trust Sales School from Cannon Financial Institute. Kimberly is a member of the Junior League of Little Rock and was formerly on the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce Task Force. Kimberly is married to Charles Aitkens, who has recently become a partner in DFI Architectural Signs.
Trish is a 1976 graduate of Mt. St. Mary's Academy. Trish comes to The Hatcher Agency after serving 9 years as Assistant Vice President at Twin City Bank. Trish has worked with The Hatcher Agency since 1997 and she works with Kimberly in our Large Group Division. She handles Customer Service, Group Enrollments, Sales and Renewals. Trish currently
serves on the board for the ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) and
is very active in the community with numerous other charities.

Jenni worked for the Metro of Little Rock YMCA where she stated in programming and worked her way up to Excecutive Director of the Westside and Heflin YMCA branches. Jenni and her family moved to Nashville, TN where she continued her career with the YMCA of Franklin, TN. On returning back to her hometown of Little Rock Jenni took a position as fashion editor and producer for Today's Man magazine. She started with the Hatcher Agency in 2006 and loves the concept of "Outrageous Service."
Christy has
been a soccer coach with Greg's Mighty Bluebirds for several years and
is a college graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Christy
began working at The Hatcher Agency in 2006 and works with Jenni to provide
their clients "Outrageous Service." Dottie Shaffer graduated from Wilbur D. Mills in 1982 and has worked in the field of accounting and customer service for almost twenty years. She was a Sales Representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics for 10 years where she enjoyed helping others on a daily basis. She has spent much of her time concentrating on raising her daughter and spending time with her family. Now she has made the change to sales to pursue her desire to help others and is looking forward to making an impact in the lives of those people.

Tara comes
to The Hatcher Agency after school at the University of Central Arkansas.
An extremely outstanding student, Tara received a full ride scholarship
to UCA before entering the workforce. Tara serves as an Account Executive
for The Hatcher Agency's large groups. She is a very outgoing person with
plenty of energy. Brenda is a graduate from Cabot, AR. She comes to The Hatcher Agency after 8 years in Telecommunications for Baptist Health and Stephens, Inc. Brenda is an Account Executive for Large Groups.
Group
Sales Curtis is a 1978 graduate of Little Rock Catholic High School. While at Catholic, he earned his Eagle Scout and was the Marine Corps Youth Physical Fitness National Champion. Curtis graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1983 with degrees in Accounting and Computer Information Systems. Following graduation Curtis worked two years at Data World, a computer company, before going to work at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield. After 7 years as a top salesman at Blue Cross Blue Shield, Curtis joined Greg Hatcher at The Hatcher Agency in 1992. Curtis heads one of the agency's large group divisions and specializes in Employee Benefits. Curtis is active in the community, serving on the Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors and is a member of the Rotary Club of Little Rock. In addition, he coaches soccer for the YMCA.
Woody has worked with The Hatcher Agency since 1992, when he began as a part-time employee while attending the University of Arkansas Little Rock. He worked with the agency throughout college, obtained his degree in 1996 and remained with the Agency as a salesperson. Woody has developed his own client base since then, and he assists with plan design and implementation, as well as administration and service of the plans.
Dawn graduated
from the University of Central Arkansas with a double major in Health
Service Administration and Business. She worked with HealthSource for
one year after her graduation in 1996. She has been with The Hatcher Agency
since 1997. She worked her first two years as an Account Executive handling
internal sales and service, and since then has moved into external sales,
developing her own client base. Dawn is very creative and persistent in
dealing with claims and administration problems, which is a great help
to her clients.
Gareth is a 1997 graduate of Little Rock Catholic High School. He is currently working on his journalism degree at the University of Arkansas Little Rock. Gareth met Greg Hatcher when he played Junior High Basketball for Anthony Schools and Greg was the coach. Gareth went to work for The Hatcher Agency following high school graduation in 1997. Gareth was born in England and his parents moved to the United States in 1978 to both work in nursing at Baptist Hospital.
Adam is finishing his degree at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He has worked at The Hatcher Agency since 2000 helping with every area of the agency. Adam has also spent much of his time at Bluebird Field helping with the kid's soccer programs. We are excited to have Adam grow our agency in the North West part of the state.
Richard is a 2003 graduate of Little Rock Catholic High School where he was 2-Time All State in baseball as well as team captain. Richard went to Miami on a baseball scholarship and earned a Liberal Arts degree from the University of Miami in 2007. He was the starting catcher for the Hurricanes and made several All Tournament teams. In addition
to baseball, Richard enjoys spending time in the duck woods, fishing,
hunting and golf.
Shannon is a 1989 graduate of Flour Bluff High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. She completed 4 years of undergraduate study at the University of Arkansas Little Rock. During college, Shannon worked full time for an insurance agency in Little Rock. She spent 10 years with the same company, eventually becoming Vice President, General Manager. While in the insurance business, Shannon met Greg Hatcher after reading his book 55 Steps to Outrageous Service. She became an employee of The Hatcher Agency shortly after in 2002. She works with Greg Hatcher to manage the Agency and help with all the special projects and community service events the Agency is involved in. This includes work with The Mighty Bluebirds Soccer Program, the Rotary Club of Little Rock, Boys and Girls Club of Little Rock, the American Heart Association, the Little Rock Marathon, and the Baptist Health Foundation, the Arkansas Wrestling Association, to name a few. You will
find Shannon a delight to work with and she has the answers to almost
any question you may have regarding The Hatcher Agency and their related
projects and businesses.
Claudette graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1965. Following High School, Claudette attended Kansas City Business College for 3 years with a degree in General Business. After graduation, Claudette worked for an advertising agency, worked for an insurance agency for 4 years, worked for United Missouri Bank for 8 years and Sutherland Lumber Company for 18 years prior to coming to The Hatcher Agency. Claudette has been with The Hatcher Agency since February 2003. She handles our bookkeeping, office management, commissions, and licensing duties. Claudette also enjoys making cakes for weddings and other special functions.
Pat is a 1962 graduate of Bryant High School. Pat worked in the Medical Field for 4 years and then went to work for Engelhard Manufacturing for 16 years prior to coming to The Hatcher Agency. Pat is one of the pleasant voices you hear when you call the Agency. She is a Receptionist and Administrative Assistant, handling various responsibilities to get the customer what they want quickly and creatively... In other words, she gives them "Outrageous Service." She and her husband, Jimmy, also run a very successful lawn care business which she helps with on weekends for exercise.
Jim is a transplant from Merry Old England. He served in the British Navy for several years. Upon coming to the U. S., he worked with Metropolitan Life for 14 years in New York and then Detroit. He then moved to Arkansas a few years ago to be closer to his sister. Jim comes to our agency from Tipton and Hurst florist, where he delivered many happy memories to people in Little Rock. We are happy to have him aboard, and we hope you will say "Hi" if you see him driving around town.
Chelsee attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. She began her career as Commissions Specialist at The Hatcher Agency in October, 2007 when she and her husband Pat Smith moved to Little Rock to open the Arkansas Wrestling Academy. Chelsee also served in the United States Army Reserve at the rank of Staff Seargeant from 1999-2007. Prior to The Hatcher Agency she enjoyed a career as a Veterinary Assistant and horse trainer. Chelsee and Pat had their first baby boy on March 9, 2008.
