Are you tired of spending more money for benefits and still experiencing employee turnover? Simply allow us to set up a Section 125 Plan and we will offer several top-notch, frequently requested employee benefits at no cost to you!

Section 125 Premium Only Plan
The Hatcher Agency will set up your Section 125 Premium Only Plan complete with Form 5500 information and plan document. A Premium Only Plan allows all employees to deduct healthcare premiums, dental premiums, and cancer premiums on a pre-tax basis under Section 125 of the IRS code. This will save your employees federal taxes, state taxes, and FICA taxes, which would be roughly a 30% savings on their premiums. In addition, the employer saves the 7.65% FICA match on those premiums, which means savings for the employer, too!

Section 125 Plan with Flexible Spending Accounts
The Hatcher Agency will set up your group with the Premium Only Plan services mentioned above. If employees elect to participate in a Plan with Flexible Spending Accounts, each employee participating would be charged a low monthly fee. We do not use programs offered by cancer carriers because they do not provide the level of service needed. Instead, we have our own Third Party Administrator process these claims to get the very best service for you and your employees.

Voluntary Dental Coverage

The Hatcher Agency represents Delta Dental, Guardian, Life of Alabama, Canada Life, Principal, and CompDent as the leadingcarriers for voluntary dental plans. A Delta Dental voluntary dental plan has 85% of all dentists in the state participating and 80% of dentists nationwide to provide the most comprehensive plan for your employees all at no cost to the employer with premiums being deducted on a pre-tax basis.

Voluntary Life Insurance Coverage
Carriers include such household names as Unum, Cigna, Aetna, Hartford, Guardian, Jefferson Pilot and Genworth Financial just to name a few. Unum Life, the nation's largest disability carrier, provides guarantee issue life insurance coverage not only at the initial enrollment, but also at renewals for those who enroll in the program at any level the first year. We feel this is the most impressive life insurance program.

Voluntary Cancer Coverage
American Heritage, AFLAC, and Colonial are the "Big 3" when it comes to cancer programs. American Heritage recently merged with Allstate Insurance Company to become the largest carrier of the three and probably provides the best overall cancer plan for most of our clients. AFLAC, however, has real advantages when enrolling national accounts and is certainly the most recognized name. The fact that one in two men and one in three women will get cancer in their lifetime makes this product a necessity for any voluntary benefit program. In addition, cancer is one of the few benefits where you get a pre-tax deduction on the premium and a tax-free benefit at the time of claim.

Voluntary Short Term Disability Coverage
The Hatcher Agency has a unique short term disability plan that was designed especially for our clients, which is underwritten by Unum Life, the nation's largest disability insurance company. The Hatcher Agency is one of the top producers of short term disability group coverage in the United States. Our plan features no pre-existing condition exclusions, coverage for maternity as any other illness, and the premium is roughly 50% of the typical short term disability premium offered to most groups.

Voluntary Long Term Disability Coverage
The most important benefit plan is generally the most overlooked. One in five Americans will be disabled for one year or more at some point in time during their working lifetime. This product is underwritten by carriers such as Unum Life, Hartford, CNA, Canada Life, Prudential, and GE Financial and provides coverage at 60% of an employees salary after they have been off work for 90 days and will pay them until age 65 or until they are no longer disabled. Simply put, if an individual tried to buy this exact policy on an individual basis, it would cost them five times as much as purchasing it through The Hatcher Agency Voluntary Benefit Program. The Hatcher Agency is the top producer of this product in the United States for Unum Life.

Life Balance®
The Hatcher Agency provides a comprehensive program through Unum's benefit plans to help employees manage workplace stress and deal with personal and family issues. This counseling program provides employees with a toll free number to give them 24-hour access to professional advice. This program can help reduce absenteeism and enhance productivity by making it easier for employees to seek advice and help with day-to-day issues.

Assist America®
Assist America provides employees with an identification card and a toll-free number that they can call to find providers for urgent situations while on vacation within the United States or overseas. Plans like Unum's Assist America® can help with an air ambulance to transport a sick person in their greatest time of need.

SurvivorSupport®
SurvivorSupport is a face-to-face, personalized financial counseling service. It provides survivors of eligible employees and/or terminally ill employees with financial advice during a very difficult and emotional time. It is designed to coordinate the efforts of the employer's human resource department and the banker, attorney, etc. involved in the financial decisions after the death of an employee.

Vision Coverage
Vision Service Plan (VSP), LensCrafters, AIG, and CompDent Vision Care are all plans offered in The Hatcher Agency plan. Sixty percent of all employees wear either eyeglasses or contacts and a vision plan will not only help provide valuable dollars for these services, but will also help the employees save as much as 40% on additional purchases of prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contacts. This is a very low cost benefit for employees and is extremely appreciated.

Group Long Term Care

The Hatcher Agency has designed a group plan to help protect your employees' assets in the event of a long-term illness that would require nursing home or home health care. Long Term Care policies will pay on a monthly basis to cover the cost of such health care. This plan can be offered as a completely voluntary benefit, or the employer can buy a "base plan" and include additional benefits that the employees "buy up" to suit their needs. Should you choose to offer it, employees can also purchase Long Term Care for other family members, such as parents or grandparents.

Critical Illness Insurance
With so many health plans tightening the restrictions on benefits these days, a Critical Illness Plan can help complement your existing benefits. This is a simple, lump sum benefit that will pay upon the diagnosis of major illnesses such as terminal cancer, heart attack, kidney failure, stroke, organ transplant, paralysis, coma, loss of sight, etc. This benefit is paid directly to the insured, and can be used for whatever expenses are needed. Both AIG and Unum have excellent Critical Illness policies available at very reasonable premiums for your employees.

Travel Accident Insurance
Many executives and marketing representatives travel in today's global economy. With the events of September 11, 2001, the dangers of travel have become even more apparent to many business travelers. Group Travel Accident programs are an extremely inexpensive way to protect one's family and property in the event of a travel-related accident. Only a few of these plans will cover acts of terrorism, and The Hatcher Agency has access to many of those plans for your employees.

Executive Medical Reimbursement
The Hatcher Agency offers an executive medical reimbursement policy from Exec-U-Care. This insurance policy allows employers to reimburse key employees for out-of-pocket medical and dental expenses. This type of executive reimbursement can be considered discriminatory when funded wholly by the employer. However, Exec-U-Care is an insured plan that helps eliminate the discriminatory nature of an executive reimbursement plan. In addition, your premiums paid to Exec-U-Care can qualify as a tax deduction. Also, most employees will receive the benefits on a tax-free basis. Therefore, both the Employer and Employee will recognize benefits from implementing Exec-U-Care.

401(k) Retirement Plans

The Hatcher Agency believes that the key to a great 401K-retirement plan is to have the right plan design and administration. We typically use a separate third party administrator to make sure that the service you receive is the very best and then let you pick the advisor or company with which your money will be placed. We often use independent financial advisors and use retirement plans offered through companies such as Aetna, Kemper, and Principal. The biggest difference, however, is that there is plenty of service after the sale when you work with The Hatcher Agency. Many times once the initial funds are put in to a 401K plan it's hard to find good service thereafter.

MiniMed Limited Medical Policies
MiniMed policies are new in the market and are a perfect fit for part-time workers or for companies where it is simply impossible to be able to provide a full major medical insurance plan. MiniMed gives employees important coverage that will provide them coverage up to $5,000 or $10,000 depending on which policy they buy. The good news is the premiums are extremely affordable and all employees are accepted on the plan just like any other type of group insurance plan. Although many companies are now coming out with their versions of MiniMed plans, American Heritage was an early leader in developing this product and is generally the carrier we recommend.

Medical Bridge or Medical Gap Plans
With more and more companies raising deductibles on group health plans to keep rates affordable, Medical Bridge Plans are an inexpensive way to provide lump sum benefits to employees for hospital confinements or outpatient surgeries. Colonial Life & Accident and American Fidelity are two insurance companies that offer these gap plans. These plans are low maintenance, and typically do not experience rate increases as frequently as health insurance plans. This would be the perfect way to round out a health plan with high deductibles and out of pocket expenses.

Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage
The Hatcher Agency has an exclusive product that allows individuals to buy $100,000 worth of Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage for just $4.00 a month for an employee and $6.00 a month for family coverage. This policy is 24 hour coverage and covers both on the job and off the job accidents. Employees are able to purchase up to $400,000 worth of coverage as long as the coverage does not exceed five times their annual salary. This coverage is offered to employers with as few as 10 employees participating.
